Its been 36 years since The Christians burst onto the scene in 1987.  Their album of the same name still remains Island Records highest selling debut album with many singles released including Forgotten Town, Hooverville, When The fingers point, Ideal World and Born Again.

This was followed in Jan 1990 by Number One album COLOUR which knocked Phil Collins off the spot featuring the song WORDS which went on to be Number One single in many countries

The band which is still fronted by the tall enigmatic raybanned singer Garry Christian still sound (and look) as good as they did back in the day and are enjoying a current resurgence having recently ‘special guested’ for Level 42 on their 22 date UK Tour.  Be prepared for endless hit songs you’ll definitely remember and a bit of scouse banter in between.  A recent review sums them up well…

‘The Christians are one of those class bands a bit like Crowded House or Talk Talk that are buried in the 80s mist of time and until you hear their music again you realise you’d forgotten how much you loved them, how beautiful the harmonies were and still are, how apt the sentiments of the songs are … and you find yourself becoming very emotional and singing the words to every song’

The band were huge in late 1980s/early 90s getting called upon by promoters to open huge stadiums for names like James Brown and Fleetwood Mac just to bump up the numbers.

The rest of the band include most of Liverpools finest musicians and having played together for many many years the band are super-tight and provide Garry Christian with the perfect comfy setting to perform at his best.

The band perform a 90 minute set including all their hits listed above and any other favourites such as Harvest for the World, Whats in a Word, Father, Greenbank Drive, The Bottle and many more.
