"It’s such an incredible project; such an interesting and different way of approaching how to try and make refugees feel welcome in their new home country – and make it feel like home as well – and the gigs are great!

The comedians are so good... It’s one of the things in my life that I feel lucky to have done because it's just a genuinely, unambiguously positive thing that everyone in Laff-Uccino and No Direction Home has managed to achieve with this project." - Nish Kumar

“I feel very lucky to be able to share with these people that are going through the asylum system. To be able to reclaim the shared humanity that we all have in telling jokes is very special.

Laughter is a unifying thing that makes no sense but is so powerful as a tool; when comedy is used to centre love and compassion in a community.

I often see people talk about losing hope but laughter is a reuniting force that reminds us of the overflowing energy we can have when we commune, come together, and tell jokes." - Sam Williams
