Following on from the success of her sold-out 2019 show, Grammy nominated singer Perla Batalla will once again bring her unique musical celebration of her friend and collaborator Leonard Cohen to London Union Chapel on 31st May 2022.

After Cohen’s passing in November 2016, Batalla created the House of Cohen show in order to dispel the mischaracterisation of Cohen as ‘The Godfather of Gloom’; performing amongst his most iconic songs, some less familiar one’s too.

Alongside performances of these selected songs, Batalla offers up personal anecdotes and reminisces on the man she knew incredibly well.

A collaborator, one-time backing vocalist, and long-time friend to Cohen, Batalla also recorded a Grammy nominated album ‘Bird on the Wire’ in 2007, a tribute to Leonard which had the blessing of Cohen himself.

House of Cohen reveals the timelessness of Cohen's art through Perla Batalla’s signature cross-cultural style, to convey her sincere respect and deep love for the music, the poetry, and most of all for her dear friend, Leonard Cohen.
