Soulful singer Ali Pervez Mehdi is son of renowned Pakistani artist, the late Ustaad Pervez Mehdi. Trained by his father and grandfather Bashir Hussain Rahi in classical music, Ali started performing at the age of 16, and since then has toured the world as a singer, composer and lyricist with a deep understanding of arrangement. Ali has performed with famous composers like AR Rehman, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to name a few and sung with singers like Hari Haran, Sukhwinder Singh, Sadna Sargam, Chitra. Atif aslam, Indian Ocea, Rekha Bhardwaj, Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi and many more.
While most of his tours have been in the West, his Sub-Continental fan base increased after he sang the song Chadha De Rang from Bollywood blockbuster Yamla Pagla Deewana. With his company Boss Menn, Ali is producing music with a Western twist of 80’s style synths, along with a dark, lounge-jazzy vibe. He has also opened for popular American singer Erykah Badu and aspires to collaborate with his dream band Zero 7 in the future.
“Listening to good music is also an art, which is also taught. And this is what my father taught me to do. Listening helps you explore and exploration should never end.” – Ali Pervez Mehdi
