Creative, Interactive Organ Workshops for your Community Group
9 July 2025
Calling all local community groups in Islington! We have up to 8 fully-funded places to take part in weekly creative organ lessons at Union Chapel - no previous experience is necessary.
These are aimed at those who may otherwise miss out on this kind of creative opportunity, and would suit a local community group who already meet regularly and can commit to attending all or most sessions.
Every Wednesday afternoon at 4pm | September - December
Email [email protected] to express interest.
Our organ tutor Jeremiah says:
“I am delighted to be able to offer these sessions for anyone interested in learning more about the historic Father Willis organ in the Chapel. The organ really is a living breathing part of the Chapel's heritage, and is widely regarded as one of the finest in London. I hope that in these sessions everyone will be able to learn more about the instrument and it's repertoire, as well as how to play and create their own pieces.
No previous experience is necessary to join these sessions! I have many years experience of teaching adult beginners from all sorts of backgrounds and will structure content around what each participant wants from it. All that is needed is an interest in exploring and creating using the sounds of the organ, an openness to performing in front of others and self directed work practising the tasks introduced in the sessions.”
Get interactive and creative with the organ as part of your regular community group, working towards a showcase performance together at the end of the session block!
