The evening is free of charge and will be a wonderful opportunity to begin Lent reflectively and open to widening our horizons of thought.

People of faith across the globe face challenges every day for their beliefs. Unfortunately, this fact is often co-opted into right-wing Christian narratives.

Still, it is imperative we keep our eyes open to the way believers are persecuted globally. Consider the recent bombing of a mosque in Pakistan, or the silencing of Christian resistance of a corrupt government in Ethiopia. Can we really claim we’re worshiping the God of peace, the God of justice, if we aren’t readying ourselves to do something on behalf of believers living under persecution?

This event hopes to give an overview of the challenges to people of faith and be an opportunity to think about the justice concerns of which people of faith need both to become aware and to act on.

Come to this event if you are curious about what is going on in the world, are anxious that we seem to be powerless in the face of injustice, or a person of faith who feels alienated from the values of our society.
