Bar & Refreshments
Union Chapel bar will be open pre-show from doors time, during the interval and post-show.
Within the Chapel, the kiosk sells snacks and cold drinks, which is located at the left of the foyer upon entry to the Chapel.
The bar and kiosk are card payments only. Margins Cafe can accept both cash and card.
The bar is located on the first floor of the building via the door on the lefthand side of the stage. There is one 8 inch step as you come out of the chapel (no ramp) and then a flight of stairs. A platform stairlift is available; please ask a member of staff for assistance operating. If you have difficulty reaching the bar, please speak to a member of staff to assist you.
Please note:
Alcohol is not permitted in the chapel itself or anywhere outside the bar area.
No food, soft drinks, alcohol, glass or controlled substances may be brought into the venue. Free water refilling stations are available in both the bar and kiosk for your own non-glass bottles.
Under 18's are not permitted in the Bar at any time.
Margins Cafe
To make a booking for the cafe, please see the individual corresponding event listings here and following the ‘Book for a pre show meal’ links.
The Margins Project offers a pre-event, in-house dinner from our Margins Cafe on most evening shows, which served in the bar. You must have a general admission ticket and a free Eventbrite Margins Cafe reservation to access.
Menu for the cafe changes regularly, but is always 1x meat option and 1x Vegan/Gluten free option
For those attending Margins Cafe, we do not open doors to the main Chapel space earlier, but customers will not have to exit to the building to queue again and can simply walk from the bar to the chapel to find seating once doors open.
Please arrive promptly as the cafe closes once the bar is open to the rest of the audience.
All meals are prepared and served by The Margins Project's Supported Employment Programme chefs and trainees, with profits going towards our work with and for those facing homelessness and disadvantage.
The Margins Project
The Margins Project is Union Chapel's frontline charity supporting those facing homelessness and pertinent social justice issues. This café is the hub for our Supported Employment Programme, where those with experience of homelessness, drug misuse, mental health issues, and/or criminal records learn the skills involved in preparing delicious food and front of house service.
As well as boosting the life skills, reducing isolation and recidivism, the programme aims to establish ‘job readiness’ and they have full access to our drop-in and advice services.
Margins Café also provides catering for rehearsals, workshops, and external events. Contact [email protected] for more.
