Stage Times
Displayed stage times are always estimate and subject to change.
Specific stage times are often not available until very soon before the event itself, so we are not able to provide more information other that doors time and curfew until times are listed on the website. We aim to display stage times once confirmed on the individual event listing via What's On, once available.
Union Chapel Stage curfew is always 10.30pm for live events.
The Bar often remains open after performances. Venue/Bar Curfew is 11.00pm
We would always recommend to visitors to arrive for stated doors opening time for choice of best seating.

Union Chapel operations an online-only box office
All tickets sold through the venue (Gigantic Tickets) are strictly non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or postponed. For tickets purchased via external platforms please contact your ticket provider directly regarding refund requests.
Tickets cannot be swapped for alternative events, with the possible exception of a multiple dates of the same artist/event, subject to availability. Please contact your ticket agent directly.
For all ticket enquiries, including lost tickets, please make a note of your ticket provider. The venue is not able to action any requests or queries for non-Union Chapel/Gigantic purchased tickets. Please contact your ticket provider directly if so.
If your ticket is purchased through a third-party platform and cannot locate your ticket, please arrive prepared with the email address used to book your tickets and the platform used when purchasing, and box office will support in entry.
Union Chapel will not take responsibility for the validity of tickets purchased from unauthorised agents or other sources. Engaging with third party resellers is at your own risk and the Chapel can take no responsibility for mis-sold tickets. We reserve the right to cancel without refund and/or refuse entry for tickets sold above face value, in cases where an attempt to gain entry more than once on the same ticket is made, or suspected fraudulent activity.

Seating
Union Chapel's auditorium is a fully seated only venue.
For the majority of events, seats are unreserved and taken on a first come, first serve basis. We do advise to arrive early for best choice of seats.
Some events may have a VIP seating ticket band. This will generally be marked in a reserved area chosen by the promoter. Seating within that area remains unallocated for VIP ticket holders. VIP ticket options will be available at checkout where available.
Union Chapel is a Grade I listed church building therefore the seats in the auditorium are wooden pews. Customers are welcome to bring a small cushion for their visit

Lost Property
If you have lost an item at an event please contact [email protected]. Please note while we will do our best to find lost items, the chapel is not responsible for any items left at the venue.
Queuing & Union Chapel Neighbours
You may need to queue outside when you arrive at the venue. Queue times can vary greatly and we aim to admit everyone within an hour after doors open. As seating is unreserved, please arrive early before event door times for best choice of seats.
Doors opening times vary between events, please see the individual event listings for doors time nearer the event date.
Please respect our neighbours when joining the queue, ensuring you queue safely on the pavement of Compton Terrace. Entrances and gates/railing of residential properties must be clear at all times. Please also ensure all litter is discarded in bins provided by Union Chapel. When leaving the venue, please respect our neighbours and ensure noise is kept to a minimum.

Latecomers & Re-entry
Union Chapel operates a strict no re-entry policy.
For most events, latecomers are admitted on applause.
Occasionally, we are requested to operate a no latecomer for particular events (for example, classical performances and short events). We will display this information on the event listing.
Anti-Touting Measures
For some events, anti-touting measures will be in place. In these cases, the named ticket holder must be present with photo ID with all other ticket holders at the time of entry.
Forms of accepted ID are: valid passports, driving licences, Citizencards and Photocards.
We will have information on the event listing where these measures are in place.
We do not resell tickets from the Union Chapel Box office, nor do our staff or security engage with sales taking place outside the venue. Ticket touts or unauthorised people handing out flyers too close to our box office will be asked to move away by venue security.
Travel & Parking
We encourage green, sustainable travel to Union Chapel. There is no private parking at Union Chapel. Information on how to find us or travelling to the chapel can be found at our Location & Travel page here.
Bag Policy / Cloak Room
The chapel operates a cloak room at £2 per item (card only).
Bags will be checked by security when entering the building. Please be prepared upon arrival to go through this process and help speed up the entry.
No food, drinks, glass or controlled substances may be brought into the venue. You may bring an empty flask or non-glass bottle into the venue for filling with free water available.
You are welcome to keep your bag and coat with you at your seat throughout the event, however this is at your discretion and must not obscure the comfort of audience members. We appreciate audiences may be coming straight from work, however where possible we encourage you to bring limited items to the venue.
Please note: The Union Chapel is not responsible for the loss or damage of any items left in the cloakroom during events.
Lighting
Please be aware the corridors can appear dimly lit in the evenings.
Stage lighting, which can include LED lighting, will be used for all concerts.
Strobe lighting may be employed by a visiting lighting team. If you suffer from a photo-sensitive condition or have any queries regarding stage lighting please email [email protected]
Toilets
There is one wheelchair accessible toilet located on the ground floor, accessed from the righthand side of the stage in the Chapel. This area is the section reserved for wheelchair users for convenience.
Our other toilets are located on both sides of the ground floor and are sign marked. Please ask our stewards if you require directions.
For backstage/rehearsal access the accessible toilet is accessed from the courtyard.
Age Restriction
Age restrictions for entry vary for each event depending on its content. Please check the event listing for details.
As a venue, under 16s must be always be accompanied by an adult.
Under 18s are not permitted in our bar at any time.
Children aged three and over are welcome unless otherwise stated on the event listing and at guardian’s discretion, and will require a ticket. We do however ask that you contact us at [email protected] as we prefer to reserve seats that are more suited for families with young children.
For babes in arms, children under the age of three who will not be seated, do not require a ticket.
Some events may be loud which could cause hearing damage so please employ guardian’s discretion. We provide foam earplugs free of charge and can arrange to loan you over-ear protectors for younger children upon request to [email protected] ahead of event time.
Unless otherwise agreed, there must be at least 1 adult present per 3 under 16's
Photography & Filming
We run a no photo or film policy for audience members at our events unless otherwise sign posted.
Larger cameras (SLRs with detachable lenses, for example) may only be used by those with photo/filming passes. These passes are issued by promoters prior to the event, not by Union Chapel. Any such cameras will not be permitted into the venue and will be asked to kept in the cloakroom.
Visiting to view the Chapel
The Chapel is not open to the public to visit, with the exception of;
- Our Church's weekly Sunday Service, which starts from 11am.
- Guided tours on the first Wednesday of every month. Tickets are available here.
Dogs / Animals Policy
We allow service animals only in the Chapel. If you are planning on bringing a service animal, please let us know prior to your visit by emailing [email protected]
