Margins' Men's Mental Health Week Tour
20 June 2025
For Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, guests of The Margins Project enjoyed a 2-hour guided tour with professional guide Nigel Smith of Islington Guided Walks, which took place after The Margins Project's Drop-In dining service on Wednesday 11 June. Read on for sunny photos and hear from the attendees.
The tour began around our own Union Chapel before heading through the streets and heritage of Islington, as a way of connection, with photos beautifully captured by our volunteer and filmmaker Archie Powell.
"It was great escaping from the everyday toil of life and meeting new people with a shared interest in the history of the area."
"Enjoyable, knowledgeable and taught me some new things about Islington."
"As a lifelong resident of Islington I found this tour both informative and interesting. I would recommend to anyone."
"Marvellous. Very good and can we do another one soon please."
The Margins Project, based at Union Chapel, is a frontline charity offering a range of services supporting people facing homelessness and other critical living crisis. These services, run in three interconnected programmes, are designed to improve the immediate, interim, and long-term living conditions of our guests (service users).
