Loving through a Broken Heart: Palestine and Israel in the shadow of Gaza
Please book your FREE seat though the booking link above
Using personal stories and images from people in the West Bank and Israel, this event will explore the current reality of life in the Holy Land for Palestinians and Israelis. What does it mean to be committed to non-violent resistance, whilst still challenging the Occupation and Settler Colonialism that continue to shape daily existence and threaten countless lives? 'Loving through a broken heart’ is a direct quote from a resident of the West Bank, and through listening to that experience, we will ask: What should our response be from the UK? How can we engage with these issues in a meaningful way, offering solidarity and action that supports peace and justice? Join us in the Union Chapel Upper Hall for a heartfelt discussion led by Revd David Hardman who is currently serving in the Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem. Justice and Peace have been at the heart of David’s ministry, he has worked for Christian Aid and is an accredited mediator with Place for Hope and a committed activist. Come together with others who share a passion for justice , peace and a non-violent future. Refreshments will be available before and during the event and there will be a stall selling Palestinian Crafts, one very practical way to support the devastated Palestinian economy. Donations can be made when booking or on the night - to be shared equally between Wi'am the Palestinian Conflict Transformation Centre in Bethlehem and Union Chapel Church.
