Stornoway release a limited edition album ‘Best Of Unplucked’ on 29th November 2024, available on vinyl and CD through Cooking Vinyl, featuring their much loved ‘unplucked’ recordings made in sheds, barns, and even a studio made from hay bales, taken from their career to date. Pre order the album here.

To celebrate the release the band will play a special Yuletide Unplucked show at the Union Chapel on 16th December.

“We are hugely excited to announce the release of a collection of our 14 favourite ‘unplucked’ recordings from the last 15 years. These are special, acoustic arrangements of Stornoway classics, together with a sprinkling of covers including our fan favourite ‘The Only Way Is Up’, which showcase the songs and our trademark vocal harmonies in their unadorned simplicity.” (Brian Briggs, Stornoway)

Stornoway have become well known for their ‘Unplucked’ performances, performing in spectacular, epic and windswept locations playing carefully chosen, special arrangements of their songs, almost entirely unamplified.

Here is where they demonstrate their passion for conservation, encouraging others too by reconnecting with nature.

2023 saw the triumphant return of much loved folk pop band Stornoway, with a critically acclaimed, number 7 album sales chart for their fourth album ‘Dig the Mountain!’, and sold out UK tour ending at Kentish Town Forum, London. This year their heart warming live shows have continued with a busy Summer festival season including Glastonbury, (“… a major Glastonbury moment.” – The Independent), Deer Shed and Beautiful Days.

’Best Of Unplucked’ features brand new versions of favourites including ’Zorbing’ and ‘Farewell Appalachia’, as well as Talking Heads’ ‘This Music be The Place’ and Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’, plus recordings from the 4AD vault (‘Beachcombers Windowsill’, ‘Tales From Terra Firma’), live favourite ‘The Only Way Is Up’ (‘Bonxie Unplucked’ EP), and ‘Dig The Mountain!’ Shed Sessions.

This is Stornoway in their most natural form, and perhaps their most beautiful.
